Who we are
This website, rossettfocus.org.uk, is run by the Rossett Focus Group, a volunteer community group in Rossett, Wrexham. If you have any questions about this policy or your personal data, email admin@rossettfocus.org.uk.
Comments
When you leave a comment we collect the name, email address and website (optional) you enter, plus your IP address and browser details to help detect spam. Your email address is never shown publicly.
Comments are checked by the Akismet anti-spam service (run by Automattic). Akismet’s privacy policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/
All comments are approved by us before they appear. Approved comments, and the name you gave, stay on the site unless you ask us to remove them.
If you tick “Save my name, email, and website in this browser”, a cookie stores those details on your device for a year so you don’t have to retype them.
Email subscriptions
If you subscribe to new posts by email, your email address is held by Jetpack (Automattic) to send you those emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
Advertising
This site shows adverts provided by Google AdSense, which helps cover the cost of running the site.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings: https://adssettings.google.com
- You can find out more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services here: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
When you first visit, you’ll be asked whether you consent to cookies used for advertising and measurement. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy settings link on the site.
Visitor statistics
We use Google Analytics and Jetpack Stats to count visitors and see which pages are popular. These tell us things like which pages were viewed and roughly where visitors are, not who you are. Google Analytics only uses cookies if you consent.
Embedded content
Some pages include embedded videos (YouTube, Vimeo), posts (X/Twitter), maps and documents from other websites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website, which may collect data about you and use cookies.
Contacting us
If you email us, we use your email address only to reply to you and do not pass it to anyone else.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email admin@rossettfocus.org.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: https://ico.org.uk
